Project Background
Offshore oil platforms are often located far from land, where conventional satellite links can be constrained by bandwidth and operating cost. The project owner needed a reliable way to send live surveillance video to the control center so that operators could monitor pumping equipment and the surrounding environment remotely.
Bodaxun Solution
Bodaxun designed a point-to-point wireless architecture. One communication unit was installed on the offshore platform, while the matching unit was deployed at the monitoring center approximately 23 kilometers away and connected to the control room through fiber. The design created a dedicated high-bandwidth path while allowing additional monitoring points to be added later.
Project Outcome
The completed link provides real-time transmission of offshore monitoring data. IP68-rated equipment supports operation in rain, sunlight, saline conditions and other corrosive marine environments. With stable transmission, strong interference resistance and straightforward maintenance, the project demonstrates a practical approach to long-distance offshore connectivity.
